We’ve been busy getting ready for you

Rhino Post Safari Lodge is pleased to confirm that the lodge remains well on track to reopen on Wednesday, 28 January 2026.

The lodge access road on the concession has now been repaired and is fully accessible by normal passenger vehicles. Four-wheel drive vehicles are not required to access the lodge.

However, certain Kruger National Park roads leading to the Rhino Post turn-off remain affected. The two low-level bridges on the main access routes are still closed to visitors, with the Sabie low-level bridge currently open only for traffic to and from Skukuza Airport.

Operational access between Skukuza and Rhino Post Safari Lodge is being managed via the Alpha Loop, which remains closed to the public, via the Sabie High level bridge. As a result, once the lodge reopens, if the low level bridges are still closed, self-drive guests will be met and transferred from Skukuza Airport, ensuring a smooth and safe arrival experience.

While conditions at Rhino Post have improved significantly, Plains Camp will require an extension of its closure. The camp was previously scheduled to reopen on 2 February 2026; however, due to significant damage to access roads, reopening has now been extended to Monday, 9 February 2026.

Although these roads are currently inaccessible by vehicle, they have been assessed on foot, and necessary repairs are being planned and implemented. Plains Camp will reopen only once all access routes and infrastructure meet our safety and operational standards.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our guests back to both lodges. This period of closure has been challenging, and we have truly missed sharing this special part of the Kruger with our guests. We thank everyone for their patience, understanding and continued support, and we look forward to creating memorable safari experiences again very soon.
